Smartwatch: functionality and features

Smartwatches are intelligent watches, real miniature computers, which not only show the time, but also offer many other features. They can be digital, with autonomous and advanced functions, or hybrid, connectable only with some devices of the same brand. They are characterized by an OLED or LCD display, depending on the model, the former can ensure greater autonomy and high resolution, the latter less performing in terms of charge but brighter, especially in the open air under natural sunlight.

Some smartwatches also offer a touchscreen, to use the digital clock as if it were a miniature smartphone, while other devices include the use of buttons, rotating bezels and buttons, a rudimentary system typical of the most economical devices in the mid-low range. There are sensors inside the smartwatches that allow you to monitor your heart rate, count your steps when you are running or walking, use GPS navigation or a Bluetooth connection, for example.

Advanced features, available only on the best smartwatches on the market, are compatibility with the Wi-Fi 4G connection and NFC technology for mobile payments. Also, depending on your smartwatch model, you can view your address book, calendar, manage your calendar and appointments, check the weather through specific widgets, make and receive calls, store data and play videos.
