“Connections Forum illustrates what’s possible with xAPI…”
Imagine one data format that works across systems, software and devices. With xAPI, we’ve begun a new era when technologies will connect to help us learn, do and improve. Connections Forum helps people and organizations across different industries work with xAPI.
Organizations adopting xAPI want solutions that “just work.” Individuals wanting to work with xAPI want to learn. Organizations need talented designers, developers and scientists who know how to work with xAPI.
Connections Forum illustrates what’s possible with xAPI. Education, certification of practices and products and evolving standards and technologies are our goals.
“The ‘go-to’ resource linking xAPI to market needs around the world…”
The small changes we make in how we learn and work with technology will yield major shifts in outcomes. This will be revolutionary. It will take vision, strategy, collaboration and partnership. We’re part of something much bigger than anything we can do on our own. Together, we’ll create a future worth working in.
Connections Forum will gather different industries and practices. Each has its vendors, publishers, scientists, developers, designers and end-users. Each must focus on the ways to express, secure, exchange, and use data. Here, we will collaborate on xAPI, harnessing its utility to help organizations and individuals make better decisions today. Connections Forum will be the “go-to” resource linking xAPI to market needs around the world.
We believe xAPI’s unique combination of human-readability and machine-readability will advance learning with data.
This community will share successes and challenges as we work together towards data interoperability. We are end-users and customers, practitioners and business leaders. Yet, across industry, practice and level, we will help each other to continuously improve ourselves and our organizations. We will learn together.
“We will give creative license to the imagination of problem solvers…”
Connections Forum holds there are six competencies that will guide our approach to working with xAPI.
- Systems Thinking
- Maker Mindset
- Being the Change
Connections Forum will work to identify what is common among all fields working with xAPI. As we reach consensus, we’ll standardize those parts of the specification. We’ll work with industry on certification tests to make sure people can rely on the tools and projects that use xAPI.
Organizations that want to work with xAPI must be able to find talent with the skills to successfully put xAPI into practice. This is why Connections Forum will work to develop professional certification programs.
Connections Forum will introduce what’s possible with xAPI to end-users, practitioners and other stakeholders. We will give creative license to the imagination of problem solvers. We will acknowledge use-cases at the fringe of current practice. We believe pushing the boundaries is progress. We will strive to embrace a sense of perpetual beta even as we work to scale best practice.
