ANTHONY ALTIERI (Owner, Omnes Solutions)
Anthony Altieri is a proud IDIOT (Instructional Developer, Internet of Things) and all around IT nerd, who enjoys talking about xAPI, SCORM, and why Kirk was better than Picard. He has managed two of the world’s largest public-facing Learning Management Systems, and is currently implementing a third. Anthony is very active in the eLearning community, working with various xAPI groups. He will happily talk to you about how xAPI can help your organization.

JOHN BLACKMON (Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Trivantis Corporation)
As Chief Technology Officer for Trivantis Corporation, John is responsible for all aspects of development and strategy for the company’s eLearning products. Prior to joining Trivantis, John worked in a variety of industries, including Electronic Data Systems, IBM, and General Motors. At IBM, John was awarded a patent for software design for his work in developing operating systems. At General Motors, John designed a number of automatic identification systems using various technologies for plant floor applications. John was also Co-Founder and Lead Engineer at BocaSoft, a software company that created various utilities for the software market. John received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology.
ROBERT GADD (President, OnPoint Digital)
Robert Gadd is President of OnPoint Digital and responsible for OnPoint’s vision and strategy. OnPoint’s online and mobile-enabled offerings support more than one million workers and include innovative methods for content authoring, conversion, and delivery extended with social interactions, game mechanics and enterprise-grade security for workers on any device. Prior to OnPoint, Mr. Gadd spent ten years as CTO of Datatec Systems and President/CTO of spin-off eDeploy.com. Mr. Gadd is a frequent speaker on learning solutions including mobile, informal learning, gamification and xAPI at industry conferences. He was also co-host of the “This Week in mLearning” podcast currently on hiatus.
MONICA SAVAGE (President, Obsidian Learning)
Monica is President of Obsidian Learning. Her seventeen years of experience in variety of industries have given her a structured yet flexible approach to efficient organization and successful management of complex processes and organizations. Her master’s degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering add depth to many of Obsidian’s scientific and technical projects. Her straightforward, collaborative approach to communication—both internally and with customers—and her creative problem solving abilities have been fundamental to Obsidian’s delivery of out-of-the box ideas and projects on time and on budget. Monica says that the best thing that ever happened to her is Nicoleta, her daughter, now 12.
MEGAN TORRANCE (President, TorranceLearning)
Megan Torrance is the Chief Energy Officer of TorranceLearning, an elearning design and development firm outside of Ann Arbor, MI. She has spent over two decades knee-deep in projects involving change management, instructional design, consulting and systems deployment. Megan thrives on design excellence and elegant project management. And coffee. She and the TorranceLearning team have developed the LLAMA project management approach, blending Agile with excellent instructional design techniques. TorranceLearning projects have won IELA and BrandonHall awards, and the 2014 xAPI Hyperdrive contest at DevLearn.
DUNCAN WELDER (Director of Client Services, RISC)
Mr. Welder holds a Master’s of Education from Texas A&M University in Educational Technology and has over 19 years implementation of Learning Management Systems, domestically and abroad, to manage regulatory-compliance in high-consequence . Duncan has provided presentations to professional organizations including the Gulf Coast Process Technology Alliance, the e-Learning Guild and the Association for Talent Development. Mr. Welder’s career is founded in instructional design and e-learning. He is a certified as a Development Dimensions International facilitator, a Kirkpatrick Evaluator and facilitator of the Ohio State University curriculum development program. In addition to working in industry, Mr. Welder has held adjunct faculty positions at Bowling Green State University and the College of the Mainland.
CHRIS VAN WINGERDEN (Vice President Learning Solutions, dominKnow Learning Systems)
Chris Van Wingerden is a life-long learning geek who has had careers in bookselling, journalism and, for the past 15 ears, in the eLearning/mLearning/all kinds of learning world. Chris has degrees in Adult Education and English literature, and is currently a candidate for the Institute for Perfomance and Learning’s (formerly CSTD) CTDP designation. Chris is Vice President Learning Solutions at dominKnow Learning Systems.
NICK WASHBURN (Director, Learning Division, Riptide) – xAPI in Extended Enterprise
Currently the Director of the Riptide Learning Division, Nick Washburn has over 20 years of experience working with hi-tech entrepreneurs, distance learning, and for some of the world’s top brands. Riptide Elements® is a device agnostic, multi-language learning solution for the international market, recognized in 2015 by Brandon Hall Group for Best Advance in Learning Management Technology. Riptide learning product development aligns with the goals of the ADL Initiative, and Nick is listed as a member of the workgroup that created xAPI. Elements core product features and client case studies provide xAPI/LRS strategies for today’s learning enterprise. Since 2005, Nick has led the development of award-winning distance learning solutions used by Fortune 50/500 and U.S. DoD.
ART WERKENTHIN (President, RISC, Inc.)
Art Werkenthin, president of RISC, Inc., once wrote ‘No-Escape Missile Envelope’ simulations for a NATO fighters. He has over 30 years’ experience working with LMS systems in the Oil & Gas, Retail, Finance and other industries. An early xAPI enthusiast, Art’s company was the first to implement xAPI 1.0 in a commercial LMS. AARON E. SILVERS (CO-ORGANIZER)
Aaron E. Silvers (@aaronesilvers) is a designer, technologist and strategist. He’s helped learning technologies like SCORM and the Experience API (xAPI) find massive adoption. Through MakingBetter Aaron helps companies make full use of xAPI. He is the co-founder and co-organizer of the seminal community, “Up to All of Us.” Aaron led the IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee researching how to best standardize xAPI. The result is the creation of the Data Interoperability Standards Consortium (DISC) – a consortium to steer xAPI’s growth and evolution, its associated specifications and best practices.
